OPPORTUNITY – NON-REFUNDABLE FINANCING FOR RENEWABLE ENERGY INVESTMENTS!
CONTEXT
In the context of the energy crisis that will deepen in the next period, the Government of Romania through the Ministry of Energy will launch the session of receiving investment projects for the establishment of new systems for the production of renewable energy: the scheme with the self-consumption component, where the main condition is that 70% of the energy produced to be consumed in its own regime and the scheme for new projects – without the component of own consumption.
👉🏿Financial instrument: Fund for modernization in Romania – Key program 1: Renewable energy sources and energy storage.
👉🏿Eligible applicants: SMEs, large enterprises as well as newly established ones are eligible applicants for these intervention measures provided that they do not fall into the category of companies in difficulty and do not register outstanding debts to the state or local budget.
👉🏿Maximum value and financing intensity:
The maximum amount of state aid is EUR 20 million per company/group. For projects regarding new capacities of
electricity production from renewable sources, the intensity of the state aid granted from the budget of the Fund for Modernization in Romania is a maximum of 100% of the eligible costs.
Also, the amount of state aid requested per installed MWp will not be higher than 750,000 Euro/MWp for solar energy – for projects smaller than 1 Mw. For those larger than 1 MW, the financing limit is 425,000 Euro/MWp.
Eligible expenses:
- The purchase of installations/equipment and assembly for the construction of new electricity production capacities from renewable solar, wind, geothermal and biogas sources, with or without storage.
SPECIAL CRITERIA:
- For active companies – the ratio between Total Debt and Equity which must be less than 7.5 in the last financial year
- For new companies – must submit a letter of comfort issued by a banking institution or account statement for the applicant’s contribution.
